Seán Carabini is a Dublin-based writer and author of the humorous travel memoirs, Sticking Out in Minnesota: A Dubliner's Journey and American Road. In addition to these books, Seán has written for publications such as The Irish Times.

American Road

Seán's newest book, American Road, is a travel memoir about the iconic American Road Trip. The reader sits in the back of the car as Seán and his partner traverse the American Interstate system from Las Vegas to New York City. Read along as Seán attempts to avoid being gored by buffalo in Yellowstone, accidentally dresses as a ranger at the Grand Canyon, and discovers what Freedom really is in America (it's the name of a small village in Idaho). You'll not find American Road on bookshelves just yet. The book will be serialized in the Liffey Champion Newspaper in West Dublin/North Kildare over the course of 12 months beginning in February 2011. Follow his (mis)adventures each week.

Sticking Out in Minnesota

Sticking Out in Minnesota tells the anecdotes and tales gathered by Seán on his many trips to Minnesota since 2000 - the year he met a Minnesota gal in Ireland and followed her home! The book covers everything from their time in Ireland through their marriage on the rocky shores of Lake Superior to summers spent in the Northwoods being eaten alive by a multitude of different insects. 

The book is available in all good (and some mediocre!) bookshops.
